MEAA election notice — 2019
Please note well: MEAA has normally made arrangements for and conducted elections for offices in ‘even-numbered years’. Due to delays in conducting the most recent MEAA elections and the declaration of all offices not being finalised until mid-2017, the MEAA Board resolved to allow members elected in 2017 to occupy those offices until 2019, instead of cutting their (two year) terms of office.
MEAA has communicated this position to the Registered Organisations Commission and have proposed that elections should be held in 2019 in line with the following key dates:
• nominations shall open on Monday, April 8, 2019
• nominations shall close on May 6, 2019
• ballots, where required, will open on Monday, June 3, 2019 and close on Friday, June 21, 2019.

(1) FEDERAL OFFICE
Federal President - 1 position
Federal Presidents [Equity] - 1 position
Federal Presidents [Media] - 1 position
Federal Presidents [ECS] - 1 position
Federal Presidents [Musicians] - 1 position
Federal Vice Presidents [Media] - 2 positions
Federal Vice-President [Equity] - 2 positions
Federal Vice-President [ECS/Musicians] - 1 position
(where two Vice-Presidents are elected from each section or group of sections, at least one shall be a woman, unless the President from the relevant section is a woman)
Board members elected by and from branches:
NSW Branch - 1 position
Victoria Branch - 1 position
Queensland Branch - 1 position
All other Branches (Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, ACT) - 1 position
