As a community we can also negotiate special discount deals for members and access to special services that can save you money. And as part of the trade union movement, we are able to get broader benefits that are only available to union members. We have set out what those services are below and explain how you can access them. Just one more reason to make sure you stay a financial MEAA member...
ME Bank is a 100% Australian-owned, APRA regulated Bank. Established by industry super funds – the same people who brought you low-cost, no-commission super. ME Bank was proudly built to provide a genuine banking alternative – a fairer way to bank.
The industry super fund and union movements’ hard-fought principles of fairness and collective benefit are at the very heart of their business. And because ME Bank is owned by industry super funds, their profits go back to them for their members, to assist in achieving a better quality of life for members in retirement.
ME Bank respects each and every one of its customers. Regardless of how much you earn or where you live, they treat their customers with care and understanding. ME Bank prides itself on real service. Because they appreciate the importance of your time, they’ll visit you at home or at work.

As an industry fund run only to benefit members on a not-for-profit model, we are active in our industries, promoting many things that will benefit members and employers. We support a variety of professional development programs, workplace education sessions and the development of financial literacy and understanding, as well as sponsoring a number of industry awards.

It’s our role to look after the financial wellbeing of our members, from the start of their career through to retirement. Here’s how:
• Our fees are low as we only cover the costs of running the fund

This valuable insurance is provided to MEAA members as part of their membership fees.
For freelance journalists, musicians, actors and crew who work unusual hours in varied locations this type of cover will be particularly beneficial.
Some of the benefits include weekly benefits for injury resulting temporary total disablement, and temporary partial disablement; $500 for injury resulting fractured bones, loss of teeth or dental procedures; up to $1000 personal vehicle excess waiver and up to $500 for any cumulative loss of no claim allowance.
Members are encouraged to read the Product Disclosure Statement to learn more about the benefits on offer from the policy.
If you need to make a claim, please download the Journey Insurance Claim Form.
