Need a refresher on the latest developments in Australian media law?

MEAA is currently hosting a one-day Media Law Training Course for FreelancePro and MEAA members in Melbourne. For FreelancePro members who haven’t completed media law training in the last five years, this a compulsory course.

Trainer:  Hugh Bennett (ABC senior lawyer)

The course gives you up to date media law training on a range of issues such as:

  • Contempt of court
  • Defamation
  • Privacy
  • Hate speech & vilification
  • Copyright
  • Regulatory schemes & broadcast regulation
  • Court reporting
  • Freedom of information (FOI)
  • Newsgathering

Cost

Registration fee of $250 — choose from one of the following two payment options:

  • Tax Invoice – please send me a tax invoice for the full registration fee (sent via mail)
  • Direct Debit -please add the course registration cost to my regular MEAA membership fee direct debit (MEAA Member Central will send you an email to confirm the new deduction amount and the date the increase will take effect).

You will receive an automatic confirmation email once you have registered and a follow up call for payment closer to the date.
