Media Diversity Australia - Victoria Launch

12/11/2019
7:00pm - 9:30pm
RMIT University Storey Hall 336–348 Swanston Street Melbourne, VIC 3000

The launch of the Victorian chapter of Media Diversity Australia will include brilliant speakers, delicious Middle Eastern food and an essential conversation about media representation.

Media Diversity Australia (MDA) is a national not-for-profit run by journalists and media professionals. Australia is culturally and linguistically diverse, we believe Australia’s media should be too.

Since the national launch in April 2017, the organisation has been doing more state-based work and understand different regions have different challenges and opportunities.

The launch of MDA Victoria marks the second state chapter which will be run by local journalists, communication specialists and media academics.

You’ll hear from a stellar lineup of speakers including:

  • Antoinette Lattouf, Director of MDA and senior journalist at Network 10,
  • Gold Logie winner Waleed Aly,
  • Seven News crime reporter Sharnelle Vella and
  • ABC Life Editor Bhakthi Puvanenthiran.

This event is open to journalists and program makers from across commercial, public broadcasting and community/ethnic media. We also welcome media academics and key policy makers. Please share this private event link with your media colleagues.

Please Note: This event is not for students.
