Since 1984, wordsmiths and thespians have put down their scripts to battle it out on the cricket pitch to raise money for the Victorian Actors’ Benevolent Trust.

This year the battle will also be fought through classic fairground games like sack and wheelbarrow races.

For those not inclined towards cricket or games, there is plenty of space to chill out in the park with friends, colleagues and comrades.

Catering will be provided with a free BBQ for Equity and Australian Writers Guild members (gold coin donation for everyone else, with proceeds going to VABT and Wildlife Victoria). There will be a raffle with fantastic prizes.

What to bring: 

• Gold coins for BBQ (if you aren’t an AWG or Equity member) and raffle
• A picnic rug and/or picnic arm chairs if you’re lush
• Snacks and water, though lunch will be provided
