Declan Taylor

I am a young person of indigenous heritage, looking to achieve my goals and further my skills to establish a career in Stage and Screen, my passion. I have completed numerous studies at North Metropolitan TAFE majoring in Film and Television and Digital Cinema which have given me a solid foundation of industry skills. I have studied two years at WAAPA, obtaining my Certificate IV in Aboriginal Performance and one year in Performance making. At WAAPA I learnt to hone my creativity and understanding of nuance and perception to develop solo works and perform in several contemporary and classic stage productions. I have worked on multiple films, live music broadcasts and stage productions where I have worked in key roles of Writer, Producer, Director, Actor, Production Designer, Sound, Lighting, Camera Operator and Editor. In 2020 I was a finalist ambassador for the NMTAFE Indigenous Student of the Year. I have worked with Yirra Yaakin Theatre company through their writers’ group in 2019 and 2020, while I continue to develop my skills where I can. I am trained, passionate, adaptable and can offer my commitment and determination to anything I undertake. I hope to make a career in the Australian Stage and Screen Industries, I hope to give what I can.
