Description

Utilise your media relations experience and superior communication skills to help execute media strategies at an innovative, global university known for its high-impact research, strong industry partnerships and commitment to preparing students for jobs of the future.

As a Media Consultant, you will be an integral part of a highly-effective media team that facilitates the University’s local, national and international media. Your role will include interviewing academic staff and interpreting complex research reports for the drafting of media releases, placing stories and utilising social media to extend their reach.

Other responsibilities include developing comprehensive media strategies, providing media advice and high-level writing support, proactive news monitoring and media analysis. This position is a job share arrangement and will require strong planning and communication skills to ensure seamless management of shared responsibilities and projects.

You will need a relevant degree (journalism, communications or public relations) along with significant media experience, exceptional written and verbal communications skills and a strong track-record of achieving significant media coverage. The proven ability to interpret complex information and communicate it in an easily understood manner will be essential to the position.

The salary ranges presented are those which are contained within the University’s Enterprise Agreements; as are the employee benefits which include employer superannuation contribution at the rate of the current Government Superannuation Guarantee amount up to 17 percent, study assistance, a comprehensive salary packaging and wellness programs and flexible and family friendly work practices.
