MEAA Alliance of Voice Artists (MAVA)

MAVA (MEAA Alliance of Voice Artists) is a MEAA committee dedicated to the advocacy and advancement of voice artists in Australia.

All MEAA members who are professional voice artists are part of the MAVA community.

MAVA delegates are the key decision makers when the full MAVA community meetings are not in session. MAVA delegates will meet regularly as a committee and address issues as they arise. They are supported by the MEAA Equity voice artist organiser.

MAVA delegates help design and run MEAA Equity’s campaigns and strategy for change in the industry.

MAVA delegates also help drive initiatives to empower, recruit and ensure members have a voice and that that voice is heard both inside the union and in the industry.

MAVA delegate elections will be opened for nominations and election every two years. There are between six and 10 MAVA delegate positions elected by the MAVA community, preferably including representation of voice artists from across the different agencies.

The current MAVA delegates are: Jacqui Duncan (NSW Equity Vice-President), Simon Kennedy, Aimee Smith, Josh Anderson, Alistair Lee, Jessica Tovey, Nikki Thomas, Dorje Swallow, Jon-Claire Lee, and Cecelia Ramsdale.

If you are not a delegate but would like to contribute your expert knowledge you may volunteer to be called on by the committee in that capacity. You are also welcome to contribute to MAVA community meetings.

MAVA community meetings are meetings that include elected delegates, members, agents and allies from the industry. Community meetings can include relevant experts and guests from the industry both locally and internationally.

MAVA members reserve the right to open MAVA community meetings to non-members, allies, agents and relevant experts and guest as they or the membership see fit.
