Need a refresher on the latest developments in Australian media law?

MEAA will be hosting a one-day Media Law Training Course for FreelancePro and MEAA members in Sydney.FreelancePro members who haven’t completed media law training in the last five years are encouraged to do this course.

Trainer:  Hugh Bennett (ABC senior lawyer)

The course gives you up to date media law training on a range of issues such as:

•  Contempt of court
•  Defamation
•  Privacy
•  Hate speech & vilification
•  Copyright
•  Regulatory schemes & broadcast regulation
•  Court reporting
•  Freedom of information (FOI)
•  Newsgathering

When: 8:20am for 8:30am start.  We ask that you try to arrive 10 minutes early to ensure we are ready to start by 8:30am as there is a lot to get through.

What to bring:  Please bring a pen and note pad.

Lunch: Tea and snacks will be provided for morning tea but please bring your own lunch.
There are also many places around our office in Redfern to purchase your lunch.
