MEAA offices in Sydney and Melbourne
What is interactive storytelling and how can you use this in your work? MEAA is hosting two workshops in Sydney and Melbourne in July to equip freelancers with new skills.
Using text, audio, video and graphics, participants will produce content to engage online audiences. The course is taught by Sue Bell from Cybermedia.
To familiarise yourself with interactive storytelling please read the following links:
• Linear and non-linear stories. (N.B. We will be using Adobe Spark, a free program. You will need to create an account before the workshop.) If you need any help please contact the facilitator via george.bath@meaa.org.
• What is interactivity.
Cost: The cost provides for participation in both Workshop 1 for Beginners and Workshop 2 for Advanced (there is no split individual cost for participating in only one workshop). MEAA Members Free; Students $15; Guests $30.
N.B. Registration is limited to 20 course participants only.
Workshop 1 Beginners: Interactive Story Telling
This introductory workshop will show you how to insert graphics, video, audio, text and images to include in an interactive story. Participants must be able to use a computer, mouse and keyboard and be able to work online. For both workshops you will need to bring in your own laptop.
Workshop 2 – Interactive Story Telling – Advanced
In the advanced workshop, participants are encouraged to provide their own videos, audio and images to use in their interactive story. Must be familiar with working online and ideally have a narrative they would like to extend into an interactive piece.
