Free Photography workshop - PERTH

Join Aaron Bunch for a hands on workshop for freelance journalists who want to learn how to work with their camera to take better photos of their subjects. Learn how to not panic at the sight of a photo brief, how to get the best use out of the basic settings, judge lighting and position your subject and how to let your subject tell a story. You will walk through West Perth, Perth and Northbridge taking photos for 3 hours before we finish up at the Dominion League for drinks and a debrief.

Session info: Places are strictly limited to five people. Register by emailing tiffany.venning@meaa.org along with your skill level and your camera model. This is a FREE members-only workshop starting at the MEAA offices at 2 pm and requiring some walking so wear comfy shoes. The workshop will be repeated later on in November if there is sufficient interest.

Bio: Aaron Bunch is a Perth-based freelance photographer. His work has been published in most of Australia’s news mastheads across a 25-year career. In recent years, Aaron has shot extensively for the Australian Financial Review and the Australian newspaper. During the mining boom he covered indigenous issues and the mining industry in the state’s north. He has also worked across South-East Asia.
