Under recent changes to workplace laws, all casual employees have an enforceable right to convert to permanent employment after a period of time if they wish to.

Consequently, you may currently be wrongly classified as a casual and be entitled to the benefits of permanent employment, including paid annual and sick leave.

Casual employment suits some people as they want the flexibility it provides, but for others they feel trapped in insecure work.
