Editors WA Winter Seminar - Sex, Lies and Editing

13/08/2016
8:45am - 4:00pm
Building 16, Room 125 , Edith Cowan University, Mount Lawley Campus

This year’s Winter Seminar is one you don’t want to miss. Expert presenters will blow you away with their knowledge and experience in different fields of writing and editing. Get ready for an exciting day of new ideas, controversial topics and vigorous discussions.

We will be looking at a range of different topics;

  •  The art of how to use plain language to communicate effectively to a general audience.
  •  How blog writing is breaking all the rules and the different voices that writers and editors need to adopt in the online world.
  •  The legal issues of plagiarism that editors face when working with authors.
  •  Analysing how editors can work with racy romances, ground-breaking exposes, or a grassroots writer while trying to untangle the messy, complicated world of sex.

Presenters: Ffion Murphy, university lecturer in writing and editing; Rhonda Bracey, technical writer and plain English specialist; Amanda Kendle, travel blogger and social media expert; Chloe Stam, professional librarian and fiction writer.
